The world's first fully upgradeable waterproof detector series! As your skills grow, you can choose to upgrade your VX-5 to a VX-7 or VX-9 model with software updates. Each Vortex model upgrade includes additional operating frequencies, more advanced features and more power!

Choose a powerful single frequency (13 kHz) with VX5 or search with Vortex's simultaneous Multi-Frequency option for excellent detection on all targets in all terrains.

Note: Lower frequencies generally provide significant advantages on larger, more conductive targets (i.e. large silver coins, mass burials, or treasures). They allow you to detect larger targets at greater depths.
Higher frequencies generally provide better performance on smaller, less conductive targets (i.e. hammered silver coins, natural gold particles).
